Veterans from Ten Countries Came to St. Petersburg’s 80th Victory Anniversary

Veterans-compatriots from ten countries arrived in St. Petersburg to attend the 80th Victory anniversary.


Veterans-compatriots from 10 countries came to St. Petersburg to attend the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

38 veterans and survivors of the siege, as well as accompanying persons from 10 countries – Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia – arrived in St. Petersburg to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War will take part in the solemn mourning ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery. They will also become spectators of the festive concert at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall and, together with St. Petersburg’s veterans and blockade survivors, will take seats of honor in the stands of the Palace Square Victory Parade on May 9.
