On Monday, Putin held a meeting with Beglov, who reported to the head of state on preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and also spoke about the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
"As always, our tradition on May 8 is a solemn ceremony of laying flowers and wreaths at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery, on May 9 there is a parade, we have invited all the veterans and siege survivors who come (to celebrate Victory Day in St. Petersburg from other regions). And, as always, of course, fireworks – we cannot do without them," Beglov said.
