Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that “we must be worthy of our ancestors’ feat in the Great Patriotic War.”
"I cordially congratulate you on this upcoming holiday (Victory Day. - Ed.). We are proud of the feat of our fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers and must be worthy of it. Likewise, we must see our duty in honest service to our people, our Fatherland, the people of Russia," Putin said during a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation.
